Also, you get the satisfaction of knowing that the repair shop and the master mechanic have a reputation to uphold. The certification lets the community know that they are not only serious about cars but also about business. The guy down the street may have been a good referral, but the ASE certified mechanic has expertise in more than one area and more than likely has the resources to tackle a number of issues.
